SORRY, again!
By: Matt |God,
This computer is so annoying.
I’ve missed 2 games since I’ve been away so here it goes,
CUP FINAL 8 – Ipswich Town at Portman Road was a thrilling match. A draw was all we could squeeze out of the Tractor Boys, which is a good result against the scabby people. Wade Elliot put us in front with a beautiful solo effort. Well, that’s Wade for you. Town keeper Richard Wright somehow kept the home side alive with stunning saves from Elliott and Steven Caldwell headers. And on-loan Tottenham man, Giovani Dos Santos(god I hate you Tottenham, we should have played Man Utd in that final) scored another good goal 17 minutes from time.
CUP FINAL 7 – Plymouth down at Home Park was another good match for the Clarets. The form needs to stay here for these last 6 games. Hard games coming up so support the lads. Steven Caldwell had given the Clarets an early lead with a fantastic header, glad he’s getting some goals, which was cancelled out almost immediately by Argyle man, Alan Judge. The match was fought hard chances coming both way, with both keepers in good form. This all changed in the 78th minute when that man, Robbie Blake, chested the ball down 30 yards from goal and hammered home his eighth goal of the season on the volley. Get in.
Right,
6 more games.
6 more BIG games.
Don’t expect anything.
Think about the Spurs game.
Only when the final whistle goes can we cheer.
Clarets always prepare for disappointment.
But this year. Is DIFFERENT!
Sorry Clarets!

Clarets update
By: Matt |Sorry, my computer is broken, yet again. I will try my best to get the Wolves game on. I am in Dubai for both the Wolves game and Coventry game but I will be able to wrie about the games on my phone.
Sorry for not getting the Birmingham game wrotr about but all you need to know is we drew 1-1, after pato scored in the 3rd minute. Kevin Phillips equalised on 37 minutes after a Caldwell-Jensen mix up. Half time brought Claret fans wondering how it wasn’t 6-1 to the Clarets. The second half was boring and the game ended 1-1.
February – Get Involved!
By: Matt |I know this site has only just started but I have some questions for you!
If you were in Owen Coyle’s shoes at this moment, and you had to chose the team, Who would you chose and Why?
Send me your ideas via the comments.
I will be doing something to get you Burnley fans involved every month.
Another premiership scalp.
By: Matt |Burnley have beaten yet another premiership team making this season’s total 4. West Brom fought hard but Scott Carson was beaten not once, not twice, but three times making the score 3-1 to Burnley.
Robbie Blake hit yet another sweet free kick that skimmed the top of the bar.
I kept saying Carson was off his line and Wade Elliot helped prove my case from scoring a beauty of a goal on the stroke of half time. The cross came in and hit a Burnley players head. Wade waited and watched the ball until it hit his right boot, flew over Scott Carson and dropped into the bottom left hand corner of the goal. A beautiful goal sent the Clarets 1-0 into half time. A simple hand-shake was Elliot’s celebration.
HALF TIME
The players came out of the tunnel and the cheers led the ground. West Brom were the better team at the start of the half with Teixeira missing with the goal open. He had to score. But he didn’t.
This chance was the only chance for West Brom. Burnley had a scramble at the 6-yard box with Martin Paterson heading the ball towards goal but it was hit away by the Baggies defence. Steven Thompson was there to make it 2-0 to the clarets with a right footed shot hitting the top right netting.
West Brom dragged themselves back into the game on the hour mark when Gianni Zuiverloon shot side-footed into the far corner, after wrong footing Brian Jensen.
Blake went for yet another brilliant free kick on the 69th minute but the shot was straight at Carson. We thought that was it until Carson spilled the ball and Paterson to pick it up and round the England keeper. Pato’s first touch was to heavy and he ended up on the back line. He took a shot but the defence dived in front of the ball and the ball hit the outside of the post.
The game was over for the Baggies and Burnley were through to the 87th minute after Thompson slotted home after Robbie Blake weaved and worked the defence and then nutmeged two Brom players with a beautiful ball to Thompson.
After the goal, West Brom slumped into nothingness and they knew nothing could be gained from the match. Burnley deserved their win as Burnley had many chances that were very nearly making the Clarets win in a landside result.

Welcome all Burnley Fans!
By: Matt |Hey,
Matt here and I am the new blogger for the offside.com and I’m writing all about the mighty Clarets.
We are currently 3 months away from the end of the season in 8th place and only 2 points away from the play-off places. Burnley have had such a good season so far and most Claret fans are dreaming of days in the premiership. Talking about the premiership, Burnley have took out 3 top-flight teams (Fulham, Chelsea and Arsenal). Also Tottenham slaughtered us at White Hart Lane in the Carling Cup Semi-Final beating us 4-1 after Martin Paterson opened the scoring. At Turf Moor, we had to beat them 3-0 at full time and survive extra time on the same score for the away goal. We made it to full time. 28 minutes later the Clarets were broken down. Two goals sealed Tottenham’s place in the final. TWO GOD DAMNED MINUTES! WHY BURNLEY WHY So nearly at Wembley.
We now have to concentrate on the league and new loan signing Rhys Williams is looking forward to the Clarets progressing to the Premiership. On the 3rd of February, Burnley look to take another premiership team out of the FA cup this time. West Brom are the visitors after a 2-2 draw at the Hawthorns.
Owen Coyle has shown what a good manager he really is and he has done brilliant with the signings and team choices. Coyle was not a very well known manager but Burnley signed him after Steve Cotterill left. Coyle has been with us for a year after signing from St. Johnstone and has made a very good impression of all of the Burnley fans.
